One important casualty of the UK 2015 election result looks likely to be the Human Rights Act.

The Conservatives believe it to be a European imposition which restricts the actions of our UK courts. Well, yes it does. It prevents courts and parliament from infringing the basic rights of UK citizens.

The Tories, and particularly their right wing (an increasingly influential group), loathe anything to do with Europe. And they don't much care for ordinary people. So abolishing the Human Rights Act fits their agenda perfectly.

If, like me, you vehemently oppose removing the Human Rights Act, you could sign the 38 Degrees petition.
